Leta teaches a variety of styles of asana - or physical yoga poses, but her focus is on Yoga Therapy. Working with people 1:1 or in small groups.

She also teaches and works with clients at Sand Springs Chiropractic & Wellness with her husband Dr. Alex Kvach.

Raised in Sand Springs, OK Leta graduated from Charles Page High School in 2007. She graduated from The University of Tulsa in December 2011, and the following year moved to Portland, OR.

She experienced her first yoga practice in 2002 and she has been coming back to the mat ever since. Following a wrist surgery and pair of knee surgeries in the summer and fall of 2010 Leta found a new side of yoga; one that allowed her to heal while learning more about her body and herself. In January of 2014 she decided to deepen her knowledge and understanding of yoga and began her Yoga Teacher Training through YogaFit. Through YogaFit she was able to study a range of subjects including philosophy, meditation, and a variety of asana (for a full list see below). While studying with YogaFit Leta donated her time, leading free yoga classes, at Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre in Grand Lake, CO (July & August 2014) & the University of Western States in Portland, OR (January - December 2015).

Leta teaches a variety of styles of asana - or physical yoga poses. These styles include:

  • Therapeutic

  • Flow oriented yoga (also known as Vinyasa)

  • Alignment-Oriented

  • Gentle

  • Chair

  • Pre- and Post-Natal

  • Relaxation-Focused

  • Heated Yoga - similar to Hot Yoga, but rather than relying on a hot room we use a warm room & focus on building internal heat

About Yoga with Leta

IMG_0114b.jpg

What style of yoga do I practice/teach?

Apart from my work as a Yoga Therapist, I teach forms of Hatha Yoga including Flow (Vinyasa style yoga), Gentle, Chair, Relaxation-Focused, Alignment-Oriented, and Heated yoga.

Why do I practice/teach?

I practice yoga because it keeps me centered and happy. I teach because I love to watch people learning about themselves through yoga, and to see them realize that yoga can help them feel better outside and in.

I love to help people learn to be more aware. You can't change anything you aren't aware of. So I believe that the start to anything, feeling better, moving more efficiently, getting into that particular pose that you want to learn - it all starts with becoming more aware of how you feel, and where you are in space. Once we know that we know where our space for growth is.

When did I start practicing?

I experienced my first yoga practice in 2002 and I've been coming back to yoga ever since. I love that you are always able to learn something about yourself from yoga - both physically and mentally.

What to expect when you come to my class.

I believe that everyone can do yoga, and that your practice should work for you and grow with you. I am all about finding your own expression of every pose in a safe way.

How long is a typical class with me?

A typical class is 1 hour. Privates are offered for 1 hour, 75 minutes, and 90 minutes.

About Yoga Alliance

What is an E-RYT 200?

The Yoga Alliance Registry is a nonprofit that provides a globally recognized credential in the fields of yoga teaching and training yoga teachers. Yoga teachers who complete a 200- or 500-hour teacher training program at a Registered Yoga School (RYS) may apply for registration and use of the Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) credential, provided their training and teaching experience meet the Yoga Alliance requirements.

The basic designation is a RYT 200. Teachers can register as a RYT 200 if they have successfully completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training program (RYS) that is registered with Yoga Alliance. All training hours must come from the same school and multiple trainings cannot be combined to meet the 200-hour Requirement.

You may upgrade to become an E-RYT 200 (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) if you have held your RYT 200 designation for a minimum of two years, and, in that time, have taught over 1,000 hours.

The yoga mat is a good place to turn when talk therapy and antidepressants aren’t enough.
