If you’ve been to different studios or gyms, or taken classes with more than one teacher then you have probably realized that there are many styles and types of yoga. Yoga is different to each of us, and no teacher or studio can be all things to all people. The same is true of studio expectations. The following are some general information and guidelines for our space so that we can all step onto our mats and keep our focus with us, and in the present.

General Information

  • Wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing that you can move well in.

  • Please No Shoes inside our studio space.

  • Since our practice is physical, it is best on an empty stomach. As a general guideline, eat meals at least 2 hours prior to class; snacks at least 1 hour.  Bending is easiest when you aren’t full.

  • I encourage you to bring water (or at least a water bottle) for during or after your practice.

  • We have bathrooms available for changing.

  • Props are available for use. There is yoga mat and prop cleaner available for you to use before or after class - we do ask that you wipe down any borrowed mats or blocks.

  • The studio doors will open 15 minutes before class.

  • Please silence your cell phone, if it vibrates on silent, please turn it off or to airplane mode.

  • Most importantly: please recognize that no one is perfect. Sometimes we forget to turn off our phones, or the person next to us is having a hard day, or breathing loudly. Remember to extend that same compassion we cultivate for ourselves on the mat to those around us - especially during those moments we are frustrated or annoyed. Show up, share the space, and do your best for that day.

  • If you feel unwell please stay home and make use of the Yoga Class Library.
